ACT iii : WHAT IS BLACK OWNED?

act iii : what is black owned?

Starting my clothing line at 14 was a journey of chasing dreams and a drive to overcome barriers. It was more than just launching a business; it represented a personal legacy in the making, a testament to resilience and creativity born from my unique experiences. This venture was my first step towards shaping a community that thrives on mutual support and empowerment, embodying the very essence of what it means to be Black-owned.

Transitioning into photography three years later, I carried forward this energy, blending art with activism. My photography is not just about capturing moments; it's a way to tell stories, celebrate our culture, and spotlight the beauty and diversity within our community. It's an extension of my commitment to uplift and shine a light on the unseen and unheard.

Supporting Black-owned businesses, like my own, is how we foster a vibrant ecosystem that thrives on the circulation of resources, ideas, and support within our community. It's about paving the way for future innovators and creatives, ensuring they have a table to sit at and a loudspeaker for their voices.

This journey of exploring "What is Black History?" through my three-act project has been an incredible ride, and as we bring it to a close, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and reception it's received. Starting with the question, "What is Black History?" we've ventured through the realms of Black Love, Black Hair, Black-owned, and now, as we conclude, this project itself stands as a living, breathing piece of Black History.
